Pair of 18″ bass reflex cabinets, the cabinets themselves are early Peavey Hisys 118’s but the original drivers have been replaced with much more robust Studiospares 2241’s rated at 600w and 8ohms each, they produce a nice rounded low bass with plenty of punch. The cabinets have had very little use since the drivers were fitted earlier this year, the drivers are basically as new. Being early Hisys cabinets they are built from 13 laminate 18mm ply rather than OSB as per the later versions. There is some wear and staining to the carpet covering and some scratches and scuffs on the grills but overall the cabs are presentable enough and very solid, when the drivers were fitted I also added extra bracing to reduce panel resonances and further strengthen the cabinets. Please note; there are no passive crossovers in the cabinets, for best results you’ll need an active crossover or LMS.
