Vintage 1971 HH Electronic IC100 Head Amplifier 100w, serviced & tested.
Iconic 70’s amplifier used by many punk rock groups, pub bands, cover bands etc.

This particular example is period correct for early T.Rex Marc Bolan.

Overall good clean condition commensurate with age. Side handles and top and bottom covers have some scratches and marks. Original perspex panel lights up but is patchy in places, with no cracks. New main power supply capacitors fitted. New fuseholders and fuses fitted to output driver board. All new 4BA top and bottom cover screws fitted. All input/output jacks cleaned and lubricated. All pots cleaned and lubricated. All switches cleaned and lubricated. All voltages checked. Fully tested and sound checked.
The front upper panel features left to right: (Channel 1) Speed, Depth, Presence, Treble, Bass, Volume, then (Channel 2) Brilliance, Treble, Bass, Volume,  and a master Reverb rotary controls. The front lower panel features left to right: (Channel 1) Reverb switch, Sustain switch, Bright & Normal input jacks, then (Channel 2) Reverb switch, Bright & Normal input jacks, and illuminated mains switch. The panel glows green for a cool vintage stage look.

The rear panel features a Mains Voltage rotary selector with options for 115V, 210V, 220V, 230V, 240V. Replacement IEC mains input socket, Belling Lee mains fuseholder, two output jacks wired in parallel rated at 100 watts into 4 ohms, then “Slave Output”, “Output to Mixer”, “Vibrato/Reverb Footswitch”, and “Power-Amp Input” jack sockets.

Note that the original trouble-prone output driver board and Darlington output transistors were soon replaced in the early seventies with then-current AO3103/5 and 2N3773 transistors date stamped “7340”
Also note that the original Bulgin power inlet socket was replaced in the late 1990’s with a modern IEC type fitted with a built-in mains noise suppression filter. Also, at the same time, the top and bottom covers were lined with alluminium foil in a further attempt to reduce noise.

Sounds very good, and very loud.
Everything works as it should.
