Here we have a set of six cabs for sale. I have used these cabs with pretty much all types of audio over time, from dub reggae to house music to nasty rock. They are absolutely roaring when required. I have literally had venues falling apart. But that’s not to say that they are unbalanced, they can and do sound very neutral if that’s what is needed for a venue. But roll on the bottom end and these come alive.
Bottom cabs in the pics are loaded with 2 x RCF L15S800 drivers each side. So, a total of four 800w rms 15 inch drivers.
Middle cabs in the pics are loaded with the legendary PD21’s. One each side so, a total of two 1000w rms 21 inch drivers.
Top cabs in the pics are loaded with 2 x early Peavey 12’s. 1 x 6 Inch 600w eminence alpha. And, 1 x 1.75 inch 120w rms eminence compression drivers. So a total of four 12 inch, two six inch and two 1.75 inch. These tops have 3 way passive crossovers fitted.
I have decided to list these speakers today before I have renewed the foam fronts. I have the foam ready to cut to size to cover the front but now the weather has closed in I may not get to do this for a few days. Some may prefer the look without the foam fronts? I have always kept the foams on to protect against any weather when used outdoors or flying drinks etc when used indoors!
Exact origins of all the cabs are hard to pin down precisely.
The 21’s are marked as Turbosound SB121.
The bottoms 15’s had all 4 15’s replaced with the RCF L15S800’s by myself just over three years ago. Shortly in fact, before I retired from the game and stopped using them. As a result, they have seen quite little use. Manufacturer of the cabs is unknown.
Bottom cabs are on casters and have handles on either end. These will fit through a standard doorway which is handy.
The 21’s in the middle of the stack have casters to the rear. Handles either side, and a top handle so that the can be rocked back onto the casters to moved into position.
Tops have handles either side of the cabs.
You could use the cabs in various configurations depending on the need. I have had great success running them as either three way or two way with active crossovers.
All the cabs are speakon in and thru.
The bottom 21’s and the 15’s can be linked together which takes them very nicely down to around 2 ohm. The tops are at 8ohm.
I was powering these with 2 x 2500w rms amplifiers and one 800w amplifier. Sometimes just the 2 2500w amps if the subs where linked together.
With the cabs stacked as seen in the pics, it takes the tops above the heads of most punters, making the tops throw along way. Ideal for outdoor events.
So, to wrap up then… A thunderous system available for i’m sure, a very reasonable price. I have kids now, gigging away for long periods just doesn’t fit with me anymore. Besides, i’m pretty deaf and my backs knackered ha ha.
I have always felt that this system would suit an install somewhere in a venue due its bulk and weight. It’s by no means impossible to tour with… I did but will need a minimum of two people to transport.
I will throw in 6 x 2.5mm speakon cables with the sale. They are long.
I will also throw in 2 x very long ratchet straps which go around the entire system. This is recommended when in use as the cabs have a habit of moving around if not tied down.
