I’m having a clear out and this Akai S3000XL Sampler (with 32mb RAM) has a fault on the R/H audio output. However I was able to use the sampler with the D/A converter (seen pictured on top of the sampler) and took my stereo audio output from that instead. I just bypassed the main stereo output of the sampler going straight into the mixer channel from the D/A. I couldn’t detect any quality loss and this was the cheapest D/A converter I could find as I bought it only to test Digital output as an option.
I ended up using it thereafter. My PC USB port powered the D/A converter and a single audio lead (from the D/A output at the rear of the S3000XL) connects to the input on the D/A converter. The fault (on the audio output board?) is in the form of a mild buzzing on the R/H stereo out. In fact upping the sampler level to +6db or +12db does not raise the level of the buzzing. Also, the display is reasonably OK but not as readable as it once was and needs replacing. I’m selling this for 75 including free postage and D/A converter.
