Up for sale is the main CPU/audio board for the original Yamaha DX7 FM synthesizer.
This board came out of an old DX7 and has been repaired/reconditioned and confirmed as 100% working.
Includes a new CR2032 backup battery fitted in a removable holder. A set of 32 default DX7 voices has been loaded in the memory. As shown in the attached pictures, the board has been tested in a DX7 chassis and plays back all voices. Testing done includes –
Polyphonic aftertouch Programming change/save to memoryBattery backed memory Audio quality and volume level MIDI in and out LCD Front panel push button controlPitchbend and modulation wheels
If you have a sick old DX7 and want to bring it back to life then all you need to do is remove the 4 front panel screws and the single screw above the power cord and open up the chassis. Round about now would be a good time to recheck that you removed the power cord from the wall socket if you want to live long enough to play your repaired synth.
Remove the 8 screws that hold down the main board and pop off all the connectors. Replace the old card with this one and then put all connectors back on, screw the card back in place and close the lid. Power it up and your beloved DX7 will be back in business!
