Roland VS2480DVD needs attention 2 x VSF8-2s Roland 24 track flagship recorder from early 2000s I have not used it for three years. The motorised fader for channel 2/18 is misbehaving and it renders these two channels difficult to use. This fader also has an effect on the output of channel 1/17. Effectively it is working as a 20 track (+2 for mix down) recorder.
The other minor problem is that you have to tap the record button harder than you should have to go into record mode. These can still be fixed as far as I know by Tredwell, who are ex Roland engineers. The DVD drive (burns CDs and saves data to DVD-R) was a replacement for the original CD drive installed by Roland engineers (Tredwell) with the updated software.about four months before I stopped using it.
2 x VSF82 effect cards I always ran this on a standard PC VGA monitor that makes it a lot easier to use (but I have no monitors now) You really need to use a monitor to run this – there is too much info to deal with on the small screen with multiple menus.
PC keyboard (old style – PS2 connection) included – which helps. I have the manual (which is tatty) but this is also available online. This is a huge machine -personal pick up only, no couriers I used this machine extensively and did some pro work on it. In many ways it is far better than software based systems.
It could do with an overhaul hence the low low price (the VSF82s sell for about 50 each still)
