Oberheim Matrix 1000 – 6 voice poly analogue synthesizer.
If you’re looking at this I’m guessing you already know what it is – the same architecture as the Oberheim Matrix 6 in a single space rack unit, features 6 voices of polyphony, 2 DCO’s per voice, a low pass filter, 2 VCA’s, 3 ADSRS and 2 LFOS.
This one has an updated CPU which improves the midi response and had new voice chips installed about 3 years ago. Its showing some signs of age cosmetically, the casing has a few scratches and rack rash. When I bought it, the right rack ear was bent so I had a tech bend this back so there is a slight crease – see photos for detail. None of this has really bothered me, sounds fantastic and I’ll be genuinely sorry to see it go.
