Focusrite have tested the unit twice and it works 100% on their mac systems.
An amazing unit with multiple features and im sorry to see it go!!

So…

My PCs Mix control software from Focusrite stopped recognising the Saffire.

Twice Focusrite kindly took the unit in but could not find anything wrong with it after testing it on their Mac & PCs.

On both my PCs and a previous buyers the Saffire still wasn’t recognised. After a back and fourth troubleshoot with Focusrite support and them remotely logging into my PC, it concluded that my firewaire cards have become incompatible with the Saffire after certain updates. This applies to Windows 7 and Windows 10.

As ive already purchased a new interfaced and have no need to purchase a new firewaire card im now selling!

***PLEASE NOTE*** NO RETURNS!

As stated, Focusrite have already tested the Saffire, so if it doesn’t work on your system then you (and many others) have the same issues as myself.

***PLEASE READ***

This is what Focusrite are recommending for firewire compatability!!

This applies to the Saffire Range Although there are many different types and brands of firewire cards in existence, only some of them are suitable for real-time audio streaming. The usability of any FireWire card is dependent on it’s compatibility with the motherboard in use, the operating system installed and the drivers used in the Saffire range.Since there are so many combinations of cards, chipsets and motherboards it’s unfortunately not possible for us to test them all, though there are a few known compatibilities/incompatibilities.In general, we would recommend PCIe/Expresscards rather than PCI cards. The particular chipsets that we have tested to work on all of our test systems are:Texas Instruments XIO2213B.An example of a PCIe card with this chipset are the SIIG DP FireWire 800 (NN-FW0012-S1): https://www.siig.com/dp-firewire-800-pcie.html and the Startech PEX 1394B3: https://www.startech.com/uk/Cards-Adapters/FireWire/3-Port-2b-1a-1394-PCI-Express-FireWire-Card-Adapter~PEX1394B3An example of a laptop Expresscard with this chipset would be the Unibrain FireCard800-e: http://www.unibrain.com/products/firecard800-e-1394b-expresscard34/ LSI/Agere FW643. Example PCIe cards with this chipset are the Unibrain Fireboard800-e and Fireboard800-e Pro Dual Bus:http://www.unibrain.com/products/fireboard800-e-1394b-pci-express-adapter/http://www.unibrain.com/products/fireboard800-e-pro-dual-bus-1394b-adapter/
Any questions please ask!!!
