Novation Bass Station Keyboard Classic 90s Analogue Mono Synth!. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class. A little object of desire in the 90s, still very nice today!
Bought this as a compact MIDI controller, with an analogue mono sound source as a bonus. Thought it was broken, and found another, but it’s fine, turns out I should have just read the manual..
So, a few quirky details about Bass Stations for non-manual readers looking at this..
There are 2 envelopes for filter and VCA, that share the same controls, you flick the switch to edit the corresponding one. This is fairly obvious from the panel, but the same thing applies to the Modulation section, a switch changes the destination of the shared knobs.
Modulation controls are +/-, so need to be set at 12:00 for zero modulation.
The Octave select switches only work when Memory switch is in Protect mode, otherwise they function as write buttons.
Incidentally, I was expecting the Octave to be Low/ Mid/ High, but it’s about 7 settings from low to inaudible.
Finally, the power supply is marked as 9v, but is positive centre, which is less common than usual.
I have cleaned this thoroughly, it’s in great shape, all the knobs, buttons, keys & wheels work a treat.
The battery cover & one foot from the base are missing.
No power supply included, needs +9v or 6x AA batteries.
Original box, packaging & manual included, original receipt too.. could have bought 2 or 3 SH-101s for that price then!
Originally marketed as a 303 clone, shares it’s heritage with the Wasp, & is a similarly feature-packed synth in a small plastic case!
Selling as I now have two, but this sounds way better than I remember it!
