A great little set of 2 attenuators for use with synths or any time that you need to reduce a signal or voltage. It has an input and output on 3.5mm TS connectors, making it ideal for Eurorack modular or any other equipment that uses 3.5mm TS patch cables, for example vintage Roland, Frac systems or what have you.
The knob is usually set and forget once you have the required amount of attenuation, but it can easily be adjusted and the shaft is removable if you do not need to adjust it often.
These are ideal for making equipment with different output levels work together, or for constraining for example modulation into a useable range in your modular system.
One really useful application is for taming down gate voltages, for example when trying to sequence a Sequential Circuits Pro-One from a Roland TB-303 you will find that the 303’s gate voltage is far to high for the Pro-One causing it not to respond or respond erratically, this simple device will allow you to bring the gate voltage of the 303 down so that the Pro-One will trigger correctly.
Another example is the TR-606 which has a very high trigger out voltage of typically just over 14v, this could easily damage a synth module without attenuation, this device will allow you to adjust it so that it is compatible with Eurorack or other 5v systems like vintage drum synths etc.
Comes supplied with removable shaft not fitted to make postage safer, it simply fits into the hole on the trimpot.
