I’ll assume that if you’re looking for a Yamaha DX7 then you know what it is and what part it played in music history – so I won’t repeat all the bit about ‘iconic 80’s synthesiser’ and all the bands that used it.

Here’s a description of what I have for sale:
– A fully working Yamaha DX7 with seemingly no upgrades or anything changed since the 80’s. I’ve used it on occasions over the 15 years or so I’ve had it, and tested it out tonight. All the keys, buttons, sliders, and wheels work fine.
– A Yamaha data cartridge RAM1 – this fits in the slot on the DX7 and allows you to load and save your own sounds – a bit like an SD card only with technology from 36 years ago
– A Yamaha breath controller BC1 – this plugs into the front of the DX7 and provides another method of modulating the carriers in addition to the wheel and aftertouch feature.
– A brochure advertising the DX7 – the sort of thing you’d likely see in a Yamaha showroom in 1983 when the DX7 was released
– An A4 sided paperback book – The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey – not a Yamaha manual, but a 277 page book that explains how to program the DX7. These synths are notoriously tricky to program if you want to create your own sounds, but if you’re technically minded then this book will explain how it all works
– A dust cover – not Yamaha original, but a third party one designed specifically for a DX7 and does the job well with a neat fit.

The synth is in very good condition as is everything else I’ve described. The only thing with some damage is the cardboard box that holds the RAM cartridge which has a rip in the lid.

This particular synth is 120V AC and has an American style two prong plug. I have therefore included the 240V convertor I use with the keyboard which I bought at Maplin which allows you to plug the keyboard into UK sockets.

There is no stand or foot pedals included with this sale, and the only lead that comes out the back of the synth is the power lead. You won’t hear anything unless you plug the keyboard into an amplifier or some headphones. You will need your own lead and/or headphones for this. Sockets are standard 1/4″ phono.

The keyboard weighs around 15 kilos and I have no suitable box to send it via a courier. So you are welcome to collect everything from Grays, Essex (20 miles east of London near Lakeside shopping centre) or I can deliver within around a 50 mile radius of London for the cost of petrol from Grays – this delivery service offer is not included in the price of the sale.

Any questions, please message me, otherwise happy bidding!
