Oberheim Matrix 6R 6 Voice Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer
The Oberheim Matrix 6 was one of the last few synthesizers from Oberheim to come out during the mid-eighties following the classic OB-series.
The Matrix 6 offers access to the legendary sounds close to the power of the Xpander and Matrix 12, though but at a fraction of the cost. Each of its 6 voices has a pair of DCOs, a low pass filter, 2 VCA’s, 3 envelope generators, 2 LFO’s, and 2 ramp gens for a variety of complex analog pads, basses and sounds.
All the Matrix synthesizers featured Matrix Modulation which allows for extremely wild virtual patching for much deeper sound design and modulation capabilities than was available in anything else at the time. Many software editors exist for Mac / PC / iOS and are highly recommended to get the best out of this synth
The Obie Matrix 6 is fully compatible with the Matrix 1000 library BUT – sounds way better due to it’s older and less mass-produced internal electronics. I will supply all the patches I’ve gathers up for this synth as a download to the buyer.
Please note – this is a vintage synth that is over 30 years old – It’s functioning correctly but will already have component drift – this is part of the mojo of such instruments but you will need to look after it and record it more carefully than a modern synth – I always consider owning vintage synths a but like owning a classic car – they will need care and maintenance at some point.. by clicking ‘Buy it Now’ I assume you are fully aware of this.
