DESCRIPTION
This is an early transistor-based analogue drum machine with five preset patterns onboard. The sound is thick, warm, kind of “woolly” in the low end (the kick drum in particular is wonderfully fat and fuzzy) and the overall vibe is very laid-back. The patterns themselves are neat little sources of retro inspiration, and the first three (Slow Rock, Latin Beat, Rock’n’Roll) can hold their own as the basis of chillout or lounge-style tracks. More fun, though, may be to run this into your DAW and then beatslice and loop the patterns: this will let you add shuffle or swing, or even slice up the individual kit pieces and create your own beats with them (though preserving that cool vintage tonality). Pushed through some delays and effects it sounds awesome 🙂
It’s a basic little drum box but with a unique character great for warming up tracks. Output is on a quarter-inch jack, and it’s a UK / European 220V unit (so if you’re in a 110V country you’ll need to factor in a step-up transformer).CONDITIONBasically very good. Fully functional, perfect working order, and very clean for its age: there are some small dings and scratches on the veneer but nothing major. Take a look at the photos to be sure.
