For auction is an SPL 2 channel tube mic preamp. This unit had been sold by me once before but was returned very damaged, the mains had been changed to 110v by the buyer thus burning the mains transformer and the rack ears had been bent in with channel 2 potentiometer broken, so it has been rebuilt to it’s former glory, (new transformer, replaced potentiometer and a recap) and working but with some scars. The IEC connecter on the rear was due to a replacement transformer being physically a different hight.I have had this unit for nearly 20 years and it has done some great work. If you are thinking about this for mastering I wouldn’t bother as the 2 channels are out by about 3 or 4db (probably due to none matching valves) but they are great as individual channels.I would prefer collection in person but will put postage. I have this at a good price for an A class valve 2 channel mic preamp,you could get one at twice the cost used with less cosmetic damage that would work just the same. Selling because I have moved to Calrec mic pre’s. Only good offers will be considered.
