When ordering from the US, parcels may be subject to import tax and duty charges, which the buyer is responsible to pay. Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very unique and early 1950’s era Atlas MS-20 microphone floor stand that has a two tier “waterfall” deco design cast iron (12 inch wide) base and extra thick two piece retractable chrome stem (same as on the MS-25 model) Made in Brooklyn, NY. Pic # 2 shows this very stand in the 50’s era Atlas catalog. It was a more expensive model for those using extra large or heavy microphones. It was also ideal for using a boom arm as the MS-20 had an uber thick and heavy base. It had the same design as the cheaper MS-12 but it was two inches wider and several pounds heavier. The MS-20 model changed in the 1960’s to have a lower profile slender, thinner base which they kept for a few decades before discontinuing. Atlas only made this early 1st generation MS-20 with two tier base for about 10 years so you don’t see too many of them around. This stand would compliment any microphone from about the 1940’s to present due to its classic deco styling and it will work on any newer set up as well. The chrome on both upper and lower stems shows very little wear as seen in the pics provided. A couple scuffs and scratches here and there but most of the stems look really nice. The original Atlas logo on this stand is still mostly present and the base clearly shows it was made in Brooklyn, New York. The clutch mechanism tightens just as it should. No issues. The stand is adjustable from 42 inches low to a high 72 inches tall if needed? You’ll notice the base has original dark grey paint. It’s not perfect having lite discoloration other tiny flaws but overall looks very nice. Much nicer than 90% of the stands still out there. No chipped paint either. The 3 felt pads are still present on the base. It great shape still and will keep the base from scratching any floor it sits on. The bottom of the cast iron base shows very lite rust stains. Overall this stand is an easy 7 + on a scale of 1 – 10. This is the only Atlas MS-20 I currently have I rarely get them in. As with all my vintage microphones and stands… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that’s fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition…period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be re-listed. If you don’t intend on buying this…do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and…thanks for looking.
