Akai EWI 4000s.
Have to be honest, this was a bit of a delusional purchase ha. I became pretty obsessed with collecting synths a few years back…and bought this on the notion of controlling them via MIDI…with the sax skills I’d yet to learn 😉
Naturally…I didn’t end up learning how to be a woodwindest.
I have actually used it on a few recordings…and made some really wild abstract slurry bass synth sounds and shredding noises with it. Sounds crazy cool through a Jazz Chorus amp. Alas I think this would be far better suited to someone who knows a bit more about the basics of woodwind.
Needless to say, it’s in great, relatively unused condition.
I seem to have misplaced the original power adaptor amongst my boxes full of them…but it works just fine with a multi-adaptor (make sure you use the correct polarity / amp). It can also be battery powered.
