Sniff sniff… This is an AKG C414 B-ULS Microphone… as in the pictures, and the title.
It’s capsule is wrecked; I admit it – I tried to clean it of damn spit and breath
dirt, and stupidly wiped the gold off. (where’s the gold!) So.. it has a pretty
flat response.. 0 to about 0 I think?
You can get a sound, indicating the electronics are fine, the switches are still
good, though tiny.
The bubbling is from the stupid foam windschutz they came with – I left it on
for some months and lo and behold.. it gently reacted with the casing – hence
the odd higher-up nature.
I bought it used, and enjoyed years with it. It has its model and a number
engraved into the front too.
Get one of those capsules for it from the US – Harman who own AKG are now
just a lifestile junk company, so your luck obtaining a capsule is anyones guess.
Any reasonable questions, please ask.
