If not, this is a powered cabinet – not a combo. You just need to add a preamp and your bass, for a rig as powerful as you’ll ever need.
The internal amp is 1000 watts. I’ve never used it above tickover, even on big stages. The cabinet has 3×10″ drivers.
Do Google/TalkBass this amazing box if you’re unfamiliar. It’s often held up as the finest neutral-sounding bass amp of all time.
It adds virtually no colouration of its own, so is the opposite of an Ampeg or similar. It just makes any input signal very much louder, which is why it works so well with valve/tube preamps that add grit or dirt at source. The Bergantino IP line has internal DSP, so the overall frequency response is pretty much as flat as a studio monitor.
To note: the castors are not the original items, and the ones shown here were put on as a temporary measure. (I have always used it flat on the floor, which is why the old ones broke from taking in and out.) I recommend replacing them with sturdier wheels – or proper Bergantino ones if you can source them.
I’m in no hurry to sell this, because it’s a keeper – there really is no better flat-response bass amp. However, I now have back problems (related?) and can’t lift it into the car – it weighs 86lbs.
