Brauner Phantom AE – Limited Anniversary EDition
This hand-built, limited edition microphone is a fantastic sounding cardoid mic, especially great for vocals – a good modern sound (detail, not rounded off) but smooth with it, not clinical at all.
It was a special edition of the Phantom-C (now called Classic) but if you look at the specification, it has a better measured performance than the current Classic version: 3dB higher Signal to Noise ration, 3dB A lower Equivalent Noise.
Mine has a few marks from fitting in the mount but otherwise is good for it’s age – it has only ever been a home-studio mic, I’m the second owner. As with most of these AE versions you see for sale, the cable that was originally supplied is not present.
I’m only selling to raise some funds for othe equipment and my other mics are harder to replace – hopefully I will pick up another one at a later date.
