Calrec C2 Compact Series Mixer in great condition. The configuration is 16 stereo line channels (each channel strip can be used in stereo or mono, i.e. 32 line inputs), four sub groups, four VCA groups and two master channels. Youre probably aware of Calrecs reputation – they have been compared to Neve, Studer and other high-end desk manufacturers.
It has a big and open sound with lots of headroom and an amazing feature set.

It includes two 19 rack mount power supplies. You run the desk off both but should one fail then operation continues seamlessly. It was originally installed at ITVs London Studios in 1999 and has been maintained ever since. There are no mic inputs, as this was used as a grams mixer. I have been using these desks for mixing, for which they excel. They are also great for tracking and can of course be used with external mic pres. It is also possible to get mic channel strips for these mixers (some were advertised recently on eBay).
All faders and knobs work as expected. The only current issues which could do with addressing are:
The mute switch on one of the subgroups needs replacing. Unfortunately I broke it when swapping out channel strips and as a result the subgroup does not currently route to the master.One of the large LED meters showing subgroup 2 output only displays the right channel. The LED meters on the channel strip itself works as advertised.Two knobs have sheared off and need replacing (one channel direct output level and one subgroup aux send).
I encourage you to view the desk in operation during the auction. You will not be disappointed. It is currently set up so you are able to hear all the channels, aux sends, master inserts and compressors.I will include a copy of the original manual together with the schematics. There is no wooden armrest on this desk, as it was installed in a rack. However, Calrec have even supplied me with measurements/diagrams for the original armrest should you wish to get one made.
AUDIO CABLESPlease note I am not including the looms in this auction, the reason being I am keeping my other Calrec C2 (this one was my back up) and I should imagine you may want to configure them yourself anyway.All connections are EDAC – I will include a bag of the original connectors.I made up the looms myself – Calrec were very helpful and supplied me with pin layouts for every connector as well as full schematics. I didnt have any experience making cables before so it took a while but I got there! You could, of course, get them professionally made up – youll have all the details you need.The power cables are included.
COLLECTIONDue to the size and weight, the item is collection only. I am in Chiswick, West London. You are welcome to arrange a courier at your own expense/risk but please note I do not want to get involved in packaging etc.
