They sound great as they are, but with the addition of the classic UK made Carnhill transformers across the mic input and output, they sound even truer to the originals with a fuller more robust tonal presentation, particularly across the mid and low mids bands
I compared it with the original Alctron version using a vocal & the lower frequencies were more open
