I am selling a superb and much loved Yamaha P2200 amplifier due to space constraints.  This is an outstanding professional and audiophile amplifier with really solid bass and clear, smooth treble and midrange.  Rock solid build quality (20kg).  Perfect working order and my use has been light as part of a domestic hifi so ran at full output only very occasionally.  The electronics are in excellent condition as you can see from the internal photos.  The capacitors are the originals but no signs of deterioration and ripple current on the power supply is minimal.  Virtually silent when no input signal.  It has the usual rack mounting marks and a very small crack top middle of the plastic meter panel (previous owner overtightened) but that is all.
It’s easy to maintain so for example the meter panel comes off to allow you to change the 12V grain o’wheat bulbs while it is in a rack all 8 are working.  I bought three P2200s sometime ago so I had a spare in case of failure. I rotated them to even out the use but I never had a single fault.
I’ll email the operation manual, maintenance manual and circuit diagram to the buyer.
Specs from the manual:        Power output per channel 200W continuous average sine wave power into 8ohms with less than 0.05% THD over 20hz-20kHz both channels driven.        Frequency response +0dB -0.5dB 5Hz 20hZ to 50kHz        Signal-to-noise ratio at least 110dB
Review from someone who is normally a user of McIntosh top end amplifiers:
I am a Mc Enthusiast.I use the MX 130 with a 7270. The 7270 had to go in for repair. In its place Ihauled out my P2200 which had never been used since I bought it at a garage sale. This amp is not exactly what an audiophile would like to see in his rack.I connected the P2200 to my MX130 and was absolutely amazed at the sound-stage of this beast. Talk about authority and presence. whew.
The P2200 powered my Magnaplanars with ease and finesse. Who would have expected audiophile sound from a vintage commercial amp. Honestly these amps are grossly undervalued. The cost of a P2200 in 1981 was 899.00 factor that x10 at today’s dollar. If you can find one of these brutes, by all means buy it! They are heavy weighing inat 60 lbs.  A look inside will reveal huge “beer can” sized caps with a gigantic wynd. Couple this baby with a decent preamp and you have a true sound stage bargain. Yamaha’s neutrality will allow your preamp to have its sonic signature intact.
