This is a DBX tape noise encoder/decoder model 155 from (I think) the 1980s. UK 240v 50-60KHZ version. If you are purchasing this I would imagine it would be to decode tapes from this era that have this type of N/R.I have only been able to make limited tests as I have no such tapes to try it with. I can only report that the unit fires up – the power light glows and audio passes through all 4 record and playback channels when selected. Channel 1 seems “hotter” than the others. 2,3 & 4 are all at near enough unity level both Play and Record and all are definitely acting on the signal compared to “bypass” mode.
