DBX 160S Dual Channel Compressor.
Very good cosmetic conditions.
Front panel in very clean shape without any marks or blemishes.
Top and bottom plates shows some light scratching for being installed in a rack.
Came from a smoke free studio and is very clean both externally and internally.
This unit has been fully serviced and calibrated at our workshop. It works perfectly and sounds absolutely phenomenal.
This is probably one of the best VCA compressor ever built by DBX and when in production it costed around $5000.
The core of the unit is built around DBX proprietary VCA modules and Jensen transformers on the output stage.
The power supply is very well built and has an excellent level of shielding, giving an excellent noise performance.
This unit is incredibly versatile, and has unique functions not to be found on any other compressor.
The controls are very intuitive. It’s very easy to dial into a good sound, or tweak into more precise settings.
If you are in London, you are welcome to give it a try at our studio.
We also have a vintage DBX 160 VU to compare which sounds great, but the 160s totally smokes it !
