Drawmer 1968 Mercenary Edition Vacuum Tube / Valve Compressor.
Dual channel comp with stereo link switch for stereo bus use.
This has been a trusty mix bus option for me, but downsizing and just keeping my A-Designs Nail for mix bus duties, so selling the Drawmer.
Lovely saturation from the output valve and a super handy “big” switch for letting more low frequencies through uncompressed.
Used but in great condition. A couple of tiny scratches on the top. Faceplate in really excellent condition.
The right meter reads approx 1 to 1.5db higher than the left for GR in stereo link mode, but these can be recalibrated if you research how.
However, I have never bothered to, as in use I have never found this a problem at all.
Compression should of course be judged by ear, but for Mix bus duties I have always found that with the Left meter kissing 1 to 2 dB GR it’s usually sounding about right.
The beauty of this comp is that with the valve, the program dependant release options, the big switch, and the attack usually on 2 or 3, it’s very easy to set it up and get sounding great on the mix bus.
With the slight quirk with the meters in mind I’m happy to let this go at a bargain price, so starting bid set accordingly.
