Here’s some custom side caps/panels that are a direct fit for the DSI Tempest. Each piece of the pair is cut ONE AT A TIME, out of domestic USA Walnut. Hand sanded to smooth, checked for fitment and hand oiled as a pair. These are 1/4″ in thickness, same as stock caps. Quality control starts and ends with me, the person making and selling them, directly from the Appalachians of North Carolina. Each pair is unique in its own right. Minimal differences in pairs, They are all done by hand, the small discrepancies indicate you are not buying a mass produced or modern machinery made pair. Each set is finished in 100% organic tung-oil only. Not ‘tung oil finish’, not tung oil type urethane. Half the joy of these is how organic and smooth they feel to the touch. Because they are oiled, they can be maintained by wiping with lemon oil or other similar (ask your guitar player, if you havent any oils). Just say NO to urethane, and YES to being encouraged to feel the wood. These can be urethaned if you wish, the oil (once cured), should’nt effect your results. I have a set ready, or they can be made to order, just let me know. I also make them from other woods like Red Oak, Rosewood, and Purple Heart.(pricing varies..walnut is my absolute favorite), you are encouraged to ask.
