Fender USA Vintage 1967 Blackface Champ Amp 5W Combo.Here is something special.An amazing condition 1967 Fender Blackface Champ. The amp has just been serviced by Amploft (winning bidder can see invoice) and is confirmed to be 100% original inside with original tubes too. I have had the cathode resistor replaced with a 470R 1W CC resistor as it had drifted in excess of 20%. This is a period correct replacement.I had a brand new Jensen p8r fitted as well, however the original Fender special design speaker is included but needs a re-cone. Wembley speakers in London offer this service for a very reasonable price – they re-cone for Clapton, etc.
I have tried to photograph the few blemishes – notably there are a couple of dents on the front right of the cabinet which are discreet. There is general ageing and patina on the front blackface panel. Exceptional condition for a plus 50 year old amp.The amp sounds remarkable. It has the glistening cleans and the gradual breakup around 4-5 that so many guitarists crave. There is also no hiss to the amp – which is quite a rare thing in an old champ. The amp is studio/stage ready and in this condition is very collectible.The amp is wired for 110v and comes with a high quality Maplin step-down transformer. The power cable has also been replaced as the original had become unsafe.Amp will be packed securely and safely.
