RARE ZYPHER ELECTRONICS DIGI-AtoM Analog to MIDI convertor

From the Genesis studio of Tony Banks

Something very rare, a 19-inch mounting Analog to MIDI convertor.

MIDI to Analog is common, allowing modern keyboards to play analog instruments and modular system.

This is a bit more unusual, an Analog to MIDI convertor handling and transposing up to 8 CV/Gate pairs from your analog modular or other system as well as Bend, Modulation, Release and other signals and converting them to a MIDI stream.

A similar product was the Sycologic AMI.

So, if you have a Doepfer, Analog Solutions, Hexinverter SimpleSeq or other sequencer as part of your modular system, you can now use it to drive external MIDI synths as well, or turn the output of voltage footpedals, LFO’s or other controllers into MIDI information. Turns your Roland MC8 into a MIDI sequencer too.

Various Mode switches allow the selection of different mono/polyphonic and note priority settings.

All photos are of the actual item for sale. Minor rack rash. Captive mains cable with UK plug (easily changed to EU plug).

The Genesis connection

Genesis had a huge studio clearout around 2003/2004 in which this item was included, and I was lucky enough to be invited to visit Tony Banks in the farmhouse studio in connection with his album release “7”. There was still a huge amount of interesting high-tech equipment there. Unfortunately I don’t have anything proving the previous ownership of this unit, but if you’re keen I will try to dig out some of my photos taken on the day – no promises that I can find them though, they are not part of this listing.

Pickup in London with cash payment preferred, very near a Northern Line tube station and the North Circular Road. I will ship, after safe non-reversible payment like Bank Transfer or PayPal Friends and family. You wouldn’t expect me to ship an item worth several hundred pounds on the basis of a payment which can be reversed for any reason or no reason at all for six months, and I’ve reached over 850 feedback (100% positive) by never doing that.

Happy to ship to GERMANY on the same basis – International Bank Transfer or PayPal Friends & Family payment, not by any reversible payment method. Insured shipping costs from the UK are quite high, please keep this in mind when you bid.

For shipping and insurance costs consult your usual shipper for costs from London – packed weight is 3.5kg and width 20 inches.

If you have to ask the insured shipping cost, you probably can’t afford this item.

REVERSIBLE PAYMENTS WILL BE IGNORED AND YOU WILL RECEIVE NOTHING

= AWAY NOTICE =

Unfortunately there’s some illness in the family, so some weeks, I may not be able to ship. Please bear this in mind.
