Glensound GLS9 ex-BBC Broadcast mixer console desk
It does work but this desk would probably be best for someone who is a bit of a techy, to configure all the constituent parts as they wish. Hence why I’m listing it as spares/repair, even though it works.
Transformers used on all nine channels.
Two mic channels and seven line channels.
One line channel removed because the fader for that channel has a plastic end bit broken off the fader , so it won’t screw in properly. You can buy a new plastic end piece from Penny & Giles and repair it.
Knobs a bit crackly on the mic channels, when you turn them.
I’ve been using it fine but it could do with a service if you want to get rid of every quirk.
I configured this GLS9 so that:
mic channel 1 comes out of REC O/P.
mic channel 2 comes out of MAIN O/P.
line channel ‘cart 1’ comes out of CF1.
line channel ‘cart 2’ comes out of CF1.
The rest of the channels come out of both Rec O/P and MAIN O/P and a choice of CF1/2.
I just use it as the four separate channels I listed above.
The mic channels distort nicely for drum machines and synths, etc.
Selling to save on space and put towards my series 500 lunchbox instead.
Great chassis too, for any builders out there.
Collection only. It weighs a ton.
