This auction is for an HH IC100L – 100 watt amplifier head.
HH amps and combos were very popular in the 1980s when this combo was made.They were used by many top bands including T-Rex and Pink Floyd.
This particular example of the IC100L head is in excellent condition and everything works exactly as it should.It was purchased as part of a job lot and is no longer required.
The amp is completely original apart from a new master volume control and new screws holding the top and bottom panels.
There is a spring reverb which is original and which works very well, and also the original electroluminescent green back-light panel is present and fully working.
There are 2 channels with controls as follows –
Channel 1 – 1 standard jack socket input and 1 Effects input via a din socket (the Effects input can only be used with HH effects pedals which are not included)VolumeBassMiddleTreblePresenceHarmonic (this control is unique to the IC100L and is similar to an overdrive control)Reverb on/off switchHarmonic foot switch jack socket – I will include a free, brand new, on/off foot switchChannel 2 – 2 jack socket inputs (Bright and Normal)VolumeBassMiddleTrebleReverb on/off switchThere is also a master Volume and a master Reverb level control.
I have tested both the channels and everything appears to work as it should.
On the rear panel there are 2 speaker sockets plus sockets for – Echo Send / Return sockets for an external effectSlave Output – in the very unlikely event that this amp isn’t loud enough for you.Output to mixer – If you want to put it through a mixer / PA system.This amp is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age. The black tolex covering has a few very minor scuffs but it has been cleaned and polished and looks almost as good as new.I did repaint the control knobs with chrome paint as some of the original chrome paint was starting to rub off.
All the controls have been treated with switch cleaner and they are smooth with very little or no crackle.
An IEC mains cable will be supplied with the amp.
Anyone wanting to see and hear it before bidding is welcome to come to Basingstoke to do so.
Because of the age, size and weight of the unit and the delicate nature of the spring reverb, I would prefer collection in person with cash on collection.
However, if you are within 50 miles of Basingstoke I would consider delivering it in person in return for petrol costs. If you can let me have a postcode I will give you a quote for this.
If postage via courier is your only option then I will package it as best I can and send it via a trackable economic courier such as Hermes. Please note, the postage cost has to take into account all the additional costs such as packaging material, insurance and Ebay commission and, for that reason, postage would have to be 15.If you want to arrange your own courier and to take responsibility for the risk this involves, then that’s fine and I will package up the amp for you free of charge. There is no refund or guarantee option due to its age and if being collected, it will be demonstrated to be in full working condition when the buyer collects it.
Payment / collection should be made within 5 working days of the auction end, after which the amp will be re-listed if not paid for.
