This listing is for an HH MA-100 mixer amplifier. I am selling it for a friend- I am a Hi-Fi man and don’t know much at all about PA or band gear, but I googled it and it’s a 100w amplifier (discrete transistor output). I connected a CD player and the amplifier worked but sounded distorted. It wasn’t a complete mess, you could easily tell what song was playing, but it wasn’t right, and seemed to distort more on loud passages of music. The distortion did not increase with volume increases- it was just the same when playing with the master volume control nearly all the way down. There is a control to the right that made a squawking sound when I turned it, and when I connected the CD player to the rear mounted auxiliary input it blurred out louder than anything, even though the master volume was turned down- maybe the aux input bypasses the preamp? From this I assume the power amp section is working, maybe a fault with the preamp, or maybe it’s just too old to accept the output from a CD player? I’ve certainly had a few vintage Hi-Fi amps in my time that can’t hack the 2v output from CD players. There are multiple inputs (all jack) with bass/.treble controls for each input. The amplifier lights up, but does have marks from use (It’s old!) and has a crack to the front perspex/plastic fascia- see pics. Please ensure you have read all the above and are completely happy with all the details. It could need a service/TLC from someone familiar with this type of product, it could have faults or it could work when connected to a guitar or keyboard. If in any doubt assume it’s faulty, that way you can’t moan if you connect it and find it needs looking at.

I will be happy to pack the amplifier for postage, but please bear the above in mind before buying.
