So, I ‘m having a bit of a clearout of some much-loved music stuff that’s been in storage for a while and has not been getting the attention it deserves. (See my other items for a Roland XV5050 and Platinum Trax expansion board).
There’s 2 items here, as follows:Korg Microkorg – boxed, fully working with original PSU, original mic and all the packaging etcNovation Supernova rack – added in for good measure. It was working perfectly when it went into storage but now won’t fully boot up. It’s probably something dead simple, but is sold as seen, for repair. It’s also got the original manual and power lead
So, about that microKORG:
I scoured the country when the microKORG first came out in 2002/3, and picked this one up at Digital Village in North London as one of the first ones in the UK. I’d had an MS2000R previously and loved the idea of the microKORG’s vocoder being able to disguise my inadequate vocals! The fact that it’s still being produced today tells you what a great little synth this is – but don’t let the diminutive size mislead you, as it’s a serious, professional instrument. You still see them in keyboard rigs everywhere.
It really is a mad little synth – very easy to delve into and intuitive to edit. Anyone who used parameter based analog synths in the 80s and 90s, like the Alpha Junos and Korg Poly 61 or Sequential Max will click with the microKORG immediately.
Here’s the Sound on Sound review that sold me: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/korg-microkorg
Here’s the spec:37 mini-keys with velocity sensing4-Voice Analog Modeling synth engine128 completely editable presets5 Assignable, tweak-able, realtime edit knobs8-Band Vocoder with gooseneck micUnique Formant Hold and Formant Shift Vocoder featuresInteractive arpeggiator with selectable stepsExternal audio processing3 Effects: Chorus/Flanger, Phaser, and Ensemble3 Delay Modes plus a 2-Band EQHigh-visibility LED display and indicatorsIlluminated buttonsRetro-styling with solid wood endblocksPitch Bend & Modulation wheelsBattery-powered portabilityCheck the photos for the best physical description. It’s working perfectly though patch button 3 could probably do with a squirt of air duster or contact cleaner.
It’s complete with:

About that Novation Supernova:
Whan an absolute beast. I put this into storage a few years ago and it was working perfectly. Unfortunately, when I retrieved it and powered it up, it didn’t want to finish its bootup sequence. Hopefully it’s something simple for someone tech-savvy to fix, as the machine is an absolute classic. A wonderful synth, and would still blow any VSTs away for sound quality and ease of use, if only the bloody thing would power up! In good news, Novation are still going strong and still support the Supernova so should be able to help.
I’m based in Leigh on Sea in Essex: you’re welcome to come and collect and I will happily ship worldwide. Or meet up if we can work something out – (I cover London & the South East for work.)
