This was my2x12 of choice until I bought two 100W valve heads and needed to be able to putthem both through one cab, so now use my new Jalapeno 2×12 with two 150W G12Bs.
Not only is theLaney made very solidly from marine-grade plywood with metal fittings (unlikeMarshall for example) it is one of the most compact 2x12s on the market.
In addition, itmay be the only one to have such useful switchable inputs (please see photo oftable). This means that if you have an amp with a 4 Ohm output you can make useof its full output power through this cab. Also you can match any amp outputwith the choice of 4, 8 or 16 Ohms.
Being a stereocab, you can also use it for stereo chorus or other stereo effects, or plug two separate amps into the same cab.
The G12P-80 isthe very best speaker for full-range faithful tone reproduction without addingany nuances that the amp does not create. It also is very good at handling heavypalm muting without losing shape. Its tonal versatility allows for vintagetone such as 60s, Blues and Country, to heavy modern Metal tones.
I’m sorry to see it go, but I need the space and themoney. There are currently no other GS212IEs on eBay, and they are not available new. The nearest thing is the Laney GS212VR retailing for over 400.00 which is only 120W, has inferior Vintage 30 speakers and only 8 or 16 Ohm input options.
Please dont worryabout the cosmetic flaws as shown in the photos, the cab is perfectly functional.
