The MFB Nanozwerg is a 2 oscillator analogue synth packing a lot into a small space, with a number of unusual features marking it out from the crowd. Aside from the yellow livery, the 12 dB/octave filter is a good case in point as it offers low pass, band pass, notch and high pass modes, variable filter tracking and strange, wild resonance.
The ADSR is permanently routed to the filter cutoff and can be used with both positive and negative modulation amounts. Unusually the filter mod control includes variable depths of LFO or VCO. The oscillator section can either be gated or shaped by the ADSR. On occasion the synth reverts to gate oscillator shaping, it has behaved this way since new, I’m not sure why and either work with the gate or fiddle around till the ADSR responds.
The LFO is nicely equipped, offering triangle, saw, square and sample and hold, going from leisurely up to audio rates.
The oscillator section includes triangle, saw, square and pulse; the pulse width can be modulated by the LFO.
A sub oscillator is included either one or two octave below, or alternatively white noise, and happily portamento is also present and correct.
The unit is rounded off with useful connections for audio in and connectors for CV, Gate, VCF, VCA, LFO in and LFO out.
A lot of synth for a small space!
UK bidders only please.
