Neumann TLM102 Cardioid Condenser Microphone
This is a Neumann TLM 102 I bought 2 years ago from West End DJ just off the Tottenham Court Road. Its the nickel studio set meaning it has the Neumann mic cradle with it.
Every now and then I have to sell something Id rather keep. Its one of those items where you open the box and just sit and look at it for a few minutes. You know what I mean? Its a special little microphone.
Ive been using it in my studio mainly on the AC30. Its technically designed as a vocal mic and very good for speech. Some people sing into them. They sound really smooth and detailed with a little bump at around 6KHz and can tolerate 144dB. I run this one through an LA610 and its a perfect signal chain – youll never EQ again – its just there.
Its got that German engineering vibe about it: the XLR fitting makes that satisfying clunk and its a heavy little thing which will just go on and on and on and . . .
All the original packing is included, the original manual is there and the cradle is in perfect condition.
