I’ve had this Nord Lead 1 from new. Purchased to replace my failing Juno 60 and add a more varied sound palate to my stage rig. I liked its size, patch storage and it’s logical ‘one control per function’ simplicity. That said, it’s somewhat of a beast and its flexible routing and FM modulation made for some interesting sounds that resembled a Prophet 5. This keyboards X-Factor is its ability to fit into any mix. It either inspires you to add something new or its intuitive interface made building a sound to fill that gap or render that imagined line simple. I’ve used many, more recent versions of the Nord and sure they offer more options and functions but I’ve never felt the same connection.
It’s always been boxed in either a flight case (EX DX7) of more recently a soft case thats supplied. As a result it’s in very good condition with no signs of use or abuse. Everything works as it should however, the mains flex is a tad frayed and it’s terminated with an IEC connector rather then the original UK three-pin. I’m sure I also have the original manuals too.
