NOVATION BASS STATION RACK
A strong contender for the best analogue-filter baseline synth you can find for under 249, this classic is a meld of Roland TB303 and SH101 growl and squelch Theres even Parliaments Moogy Flashlight Bass patches available.
Thats not to say that this doesnt have its own character – it stands up as a classic in its own right thanks to its Chriss Huggett designed Analogue WASP filter and VCA.
It was famously used by RZA of Wu Tang, Underworld, Massive Attack, Orbital, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead and looooaaaaddssss more.
Obviously Korg and Behringer make some pretty cool units, however, for the versatility, price, I/O (FILTER IN, MIDI + CV!!) and breadth of tone, you just can’t beat this!

For me, I love getting Homework-era Daft Punk acid lines out of it pair it up with the Novation Drum Station (808/909 clone – also for sale) and you’re in acid heaven!
