This auction is for a  Peavey Classic VT Series combo amplifier with 2 x 12″ drivers
This particular example is in excellent condition and everything works exactly as it should.
Designed for guitar with its pair of 12″ driver, it breaks up nicely at higher volumes, as you would expect for a vintage valve amp..
This valve amp uses a pair of 6L6GC valves to produce an incredibly loud 50 watts.
The amp is original and unmodified as far as I’m aware. My playing days are over so it needs to go to a new home where it will be well used.
There is a single channel which has 4 input jack sockets.Input 1 is the Bright Input which has its own Gain control.Inputs 2 and 3 are normal inputs which also have their own Gain control.Input 4 is a combined “Automix” input which uses both the Gain controls to give some flexibility and this gives some great overdrive/sustain sounds.
Master to all the inputs are the Bass, Middle and Treble controls. The combo is also fitted with a built-in phaser which has Color and Rate controls and a built-in spring reverb which has a level control. Finally, there is also a master gain control for overall volume.
The effects all work well without a footswitch but, on the back, is a din socket for a 4-way Peavey footswitch which can be used to control the gain selection and effects. Unfortunately I don’t have the footswitch so it is not included in the auction.
It is in excellent condition for its age. The black tolex covering has a few minor marks and scuffs but it has been cleaned and polished and looks great.
Anyone wanting to see and hear it before bidding is welcome to come to Basingstoke to do so.
Due to the fragile nature of vintage valve amps I would much prefer if the amp was collected in person with cash on collection. I can then also demonstrate the amp before you take it away.
However, if you are within 50 miles of Basingstoke I would consider delivering it in person in return for petrol costs. If you can let me have a postcode I will give you a quote for this.
If postage via courier is your only option then I would reluctantly be willing to do this but the size and weight means it’s not cheap, especially as I will only use a fully insured and trackable service.  There is no refund or guarantee option due to its age and the fact that the combo will be demonstrated to be in full working condition when the buyer collects it. If it is to be posted, I will take a video of the amp before packaging it so that it can be seen to be in good working condition when it leave me.
Payment / collection should be made within 5 working days of the auction end, after which the amp will be re-listed if not paid for.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Please note – I will definitely NOT send it outside the UK as it is much too big and heavy and it would be much too risky.
