In a studio it is great on ribbon mics, it seems that I sold a lot for SM7b..dynamics also. Note that if you have World class preamps like 1073 clones, API, quadeight..you want to drive these well instead of using it at unity with a booster between. Still it is superb on ribbon where you need a lot of gain keeping low Signal/noise ratio that way, especially if you don’t own a clean preamp with high gain.
