The unit is sometimes working 100% fine, but sometimes it loses connection with host after phantom power is switched on. Then a restart of the host machine is necessary to make it work as expected. Since I’m working professionally and can’t afford the occasional restarting, I bought a new audio interface and letting this one go.
My electronic friends tell me some parts inside the device might need replacement. So the buyer should keep in mind that some repairs will need to be done in order to stop the phantom power (or maybe power in general) related problems.
Outputs on the other hand work just fine and everything else functions as expected. A year ago I bought new breakout cable (original one from RME), but will include the old one too with only one of two mic connectors working.
Bottom line – you should drop a bid on it if:
a) you’re working from home and use outputs more than inputs
b) don’t mind restarting your host machine (be it mac or pc) in 5 case out of 10 if you want to use phantom powered mics (I own no dynamic mics, so not if there should be problems as well).
c) you understand what the problem is and are ready or able to solve it yourself or give it to someone to solve.
