Roland VK8m.
This is the module version of the VK8 Hammond B3 emulation or clone wheel organ from Roland.
The sound of the VK8m is very realistic and is controlled using either presets or the 9 drawbars, vibrato /chorus, 2nd and 3rd percussion. Just like a real B3.
You also can adjust the leakage and crosstalk to either make the sound pristine or hummy and dirty To emulate a vintage model with worn components.
There are also 4 Vintage Amp simulations as well as 4 types of reverb that are easily selected and adjusted using real knobs rather than having to menu dive to edit it.
The Leslie emulation is very good. And can be controlled using the dedicated buttons on the front panel or by Roland’s D Beam that is built into this module.
The D beam can be switched to control
The Leslie Function,
Tone wheel Brake,
which emulates the trick of switching the power off and on with an L series which causes the tone generator to stall and recover. Add Ring modulation,
Add Sping Shock, John Lord and Keith Emerson did this by either banging or rocking the organ to make the spring reverb crash and bang around.
And finally add crescendo and Glissando.
As well as all controls being adjustable over midi
The VK8m compares very well to other clonewheels like the C2D from Nord.
This one has been giggled and has minor scratches on the panel and damage to the wooden end cheeks and one of the knobs has the gold trim missing. I’ve attempted to show these points in the photos. None of this however effects the function or the way that it sounds. It does come complete with the original Roland Power supply. Condition is Used, please study the photos so you can see exactly what you are buying.
