Up for auction is my favourite, amazing Royer SF-12 stereo ribbon microphone. This thing has the sound that has always been in my head. Beautifully smooth with amazing stereo image. Perfect for acoustic instruments, vintage-style drum overheads, and even vocals. It features two figure-8 pattern elements that are 90degrees to each other – perfect for a Blumlein setup, Mid side array or as a terrific mono-compatible vocal signal for singers who love moving around in front of the mic.
This microphone was re-ribboned by Royer a few years ago, and has only seen about 20 hours of use since then… which is quite sad really. It deserves some use! Included in the auction is a Royer shockmount, 5pin XLR cable and 5pin to 3pin XLR tails – all official Royer accessories.
Local pickup from Sydney’s Summer Hill is most welcome (cash only), or shipping at buyer’s expense.
