The roto-molded design features a 7 angled top with 14U steel rails, extra room in the back for cable connections and ample room for larger analog and digital mixers such as the Soundcraft FX16ii. The deep design allows for up to 12U of vertical rack space (6U front rails, with 6U rear rack rails).

As shown in the photos, the cover can be used as a pedestal for the Mighty GigRig which places the mixer at proper mixing height. When packed, the cover will fit over installed XLR cable connectors (top or rear mounted). The Mighty GigRig includes four over-molded lift handles and four locking casters (locks both caster roll and caster swivel).

The case has moulded recesses around the cover top, but although they look like handles they are hopeless because handles because there is no grip in them. To remedy this, I added the four heavy-duty sprung steel flight case handles, which make the unit much, much easier to handle.

This is a fantastic piece of design. It’s tough, easily handled and a really practical way to rack up a rig that needs to be moved frequently, set up fast and packed away quickly. I had a 16 Soundcraft channel analogue mixer with 6 Sennheiser wireless mics in the top, with signal processing and distribution in the front, and power and connectivity in the back. All I had to do was set the case up on it’s lid as a stand (as shown in the photos) and plug it in. I was using a wireless link to the PA so no cables to run apart from mains. As I said above, for the avoidance of doubt, no equipment is included in this sale – just the case.

And questions, let me know!

Cheers,

Jim.
