The Ferrari of guitar amps…. 1992 Soldano SLO100.
A modern classic in high gain guitar amplification, it was the rig of choice for many guitar legends including Clapton, Van Halen, Lukather, Landau, Moore & Knopfler.
Featuring 4 x 6L6 power valves to produce its signature smooth overdrive, the amp has been much copied but never equalled, and is a firm favourite tone on current guitar amp modelling units.
This particular amp is one of the rare examples, having had all three available modifications installed… The Stevie Ray Vaughn mod, the Warren Haynes mod, and the Depth mod. The depth mod in particular takes this amp into another realm sonically, adding huge body to the lower frequencies.
The foot-switch supplied with this amp is a custom unit featuring two switches as opposed to the single switch original version. The green switch engages the the crunch setting on the normal channel, whilst the red switch changes between the normal and overdrive channels.
A fantastic amp that I am very reluctant to part with.
