Sontronics Aria Large Condenser Valve Microphone
The new Sontronics ARIA is valve cardioid condenser microphone that has been developed specifically for vocals, giving you silky smooth results with stunning top and bottom end.
Designed and developed in England and beta-tested by top producers and artists, the Sontronics ARIA features a large, 1.07-inch, edge-terminated cardioid capsule that will reproduce all the finest details of any female or male vocal performance. And thanks to Sontronics' trademark smooth-high-frequency-rolloff, you'll end up with stunningly clear top end, smooth, warm mids and a juicy bottom end, especially when taking advantage of the proximity effect.
On the accompanying power supply unit you'll find pad (0, -10dB) and filter (linear, 75Hz) switches to give you even more control. The Sontronics ARIA boasts a European 12AX7/ECC83 valve, which lends a character to your recordings that you would expect to find in a classic vintage valve mic costing many times more.
Beta-tested by Oscar- and Grammy-winning producer Paul Epworth, Mercury award-winning singer/songwriter PJ Harvey and several Abbey Road engineers, the Sontronics ARIA is definitely a go-to vocal microphone that will give you professional, classic-sounding results on any voice wherever you are recording. The concept is simple – to take portable acoustic space to a new level of performance. The execution? Well let's just say no other company has yet even managed to match the performance and success of the sE Electronics Reflexion Filter Pro.
Creating a well-controlled recording space in a small and portable device is an extremely difficult task. It's an interesting point to note that no other microphone company has, in the eight years that RF Pro has led the way, attempted to recreate such a product.
All imitation products are simple foam devices, which, according to sE Electronics, do much more harm to your tracking and final mix than any small benefit they may impart. This is due to them removing important high frequencies, while simultaneously failing to improve the very thing they 'claim' to prevent – reflections! Foam simply allows most low and mid frequency information to pass directly through leaving the user with all the same primary reflection issues, but now with loss of high frequency detail. The result? Dull sounding, incoherent tracks and a messy final mix.
The RF Pro's multiple layers of different materials and air gaps solved this problem for the first time. Now, SPACE takes things to a whole new level. Seven vertical pillars significantly deepen the air gaps internal to the device, whilst simultaneously aiding randomisation of diffusion. We deliver all items, except items worth less than 30, by insured courier.
In most cases we can deliver items within a couple of working days. We will contact you should delivery be delayed. Exceptions may apply to non-mainland destinations, the very north of Scotland and non-UK destinations.
