Sony DTC-690 DAT Digital Audio Tape Player & Remote – repairable or for parts

It has been some time since I used this in the studio. When I inserted a tape for the purpose of writing this description and to check the unit I find that I am not now able to eject it.
This unit is therefore being sold seen and as-found        The unit powers up when plugged in      The screen and function buttons seem to be working – pressing or moving the input selector button, the Rec mode button, the counter mode button, the Start ID (auto, renumber) all result in screen information changing      When I inserted the tape I could hear it the motors spooling up / taking up the tape slack      Pressing fast forward I hear the motor spool up and it does advance.      During fast forward /rewind the pgm value does change      It recognizes the Top and End of a tape      During rewind / fast forward it sounds very occasionally like bearings are a little dry. I dont know what would actually cause that noise.      When play is pressed the digital VU meters show the volumes for left and right      I did all the above, but the unit has decided not to allow me to eject the tape. So this sale comes with a free DAT tape.      Remote is included
