This auctions is for a Symetrix 552E Dual 5-Band (per channel) Parametric Equalizer which is in really excellent mint unmarked condition primarily because of very low use. It was bought originally as a subwoofer equaliser where the flexibility of having 5-band parametric control was well suited for dealing with multiple low-frequency room-mode resonances. However, it’s requirement was soon superseded and so it has spent its life on a shelf just being stored, hence the mint condition. It has only been powered up from time to time to help maintain the electrolytic capacitors. Each band of the equaliser has controls for centre frequency, filter Q and boost or cut level. There are three frequency ranges per band that can be independently selected, also “left” and “right” channel bands are totally independent so there is great flexibility. Inputs and outputs are either balanced or single-ended and there are both 1/4 inch jack and XLR connectors as can be seen in the pix. The metal casework is strong to withstand day-to-day use and there are standard flanges at the front for rack mounting that are integral to the casework.
