Tannoy Reveal
This used pair of Tannoy Reveal Studio Monitors have been tested and work. One of the speaker Tweeters films has peeled away but the cap itself is still in good condition and won’t affect the playback sound (pictured). This pair of Reveals has been modded as traditionally the red faced reveal unit are usually passive this pair features a Gemtek Systems “The Limpet” Amplifier commonly used to power BBC designed LS3/5s reference speakers. Tannoy Reveal Generic Description
The Reveal is a two-way speaker system. The front sounding board is made of a 40 mm thick MDF (this is very thick) beveled at the corners, while the remainder of the enclosure is made of 16 mm board. The box is, considering its size, very solid and does not resonate when being knocked. The speakers are magnetically shielded so that they can be placed near a computer or a TV set. The finish of the enclosure is perfect, and the hard lacquer looks really nice. The front is satin red, the rest is grey. The color combination seems a little unusual to me, but this is a studio monitor, not a living room speaker. The bass reflex port is located on the rear along with a pair of gold-plated binding posts. There is no grille. The system is designed to be used in a vertical position, so do not even think about laying it sideways.
