Hello and thanks for looking at my listing for this TL Audio Ivory Series 5001 Tube Valve Processor (Channel strip). Been regularly used in our studio for several years. Weve put slightly different valves in it from the standard spec, which makes it a lot warmer and responsive. Its a great preamp for a good home studio, or equally home (as it has been for us) as a professional studio preamp. Its perfect for drums, particularly toms for example. As you can see from the pictures, the unit is in very good condition for its age, and will give you many years good service. You dont find many of these available these days and they can sell for a fair bit of money, so Ive set a sensible price.
Heres some words I shamelessly stole from someone else, who describes it far better than me:Presented in a 2U rack case, the 5001 provides four identical mic preamps, all powered by an internal mains PSU. The metering is very simple, with just one LED showing the amount of drive through the valve stage, and a second one warning of peaks above 5dB of clipping. The brightness of the Drive LED gives an intuitive indication of how much warmth is being added by the valve. The single Gain control is continuously variable from 16 to 60dB, with a separate Output Level control adding up to a further 15dB of gain. Phantom power (48V) is switchable, as are phase reverse and a 90Hz low-cut filter with a 12dB per octave slope. All four mic inputs are on rear-panel XLRs, and the outputs are available on both balanced XLRs (+4dBu nominal) and unbalanced jacks (-10dBv nominal). A voltage-select switch is also located on the rear panel, along with the mains inlet. Internally, each channel comprises a solid-state, low-noise mic amp followed by a two-stage valve amplifier based around a single ECC83 dual triode. An audio bandwidth flat within 1dB from 10Hz to 40kHz, and the equivalent input noise is -127dBu for maximum gain.
