Universal Audio 6176 Channel Strip – MINT CONDITION.
I bought this unit about 12 years ago from Anderton’s Pro Audio Music company.
Used within a home studio set up to record several albums it was simply the best investment I ever made to overcome the problems recording vocals.
This unit actually combines the best of two worlds. On the left side you have the UA Classic Tube 610 pre-amp and on the right side their 1176 limiter. Both sides can be split or joined.
Technologically simple, compared to modern digital consoles, however this fantastic piece of equipment adds a warmth and character to anything you record through it.
Vocals, in particular, are given a “polish” that simply is unattainable digitally (IMHO).
Many classic recordings, studio and live, (Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Van Halen) have used the Universal Audio 610.
This unit has been kept in a dry, dust and smoke free environment. It is has well cared for and is as good as the day it was bought, brand new.
I’m reluctantly selling this as I’m downsizing my home and toys!
